I think we are all anxious for spring to arrive. It has seemed like a long winter.
Last year was the first year for our Demo Plot that highlighted nearly 50 different plantings from Turf Grasses to Native Grasses; Pasture mixes to Wildlife food mixes.
The plot has been visited by customers and consumers. Its value is to show the growth of course, but also to show how mowing and herbicides affect production, growth and weed competition. We will be replacing the annual plantings and some of the perennials. Please stop in for a tour when spring rolls around. New plantings will be late April or early May.
Our annual happenings are approaching rapidly. April May and June Chick Days, Fish Day, and Free soil testing are all scheduled and orders are being taken. Dates may be seen from the calendar tab on the home page.
We will receive our potato sets and onion sets when the chance of frost has diminished. To reserve your sets please give us a call and you will be notified when they arrive.
Gardening and a backyard flock is a great outdoor activity and very rewarding. Growing fresh produce and gathering eggs is very healthy and also can help as a responsibility building activity for children.
